Bring On The Holidays At Danfords Hotel
September 2009
A contemporary harbor-side retreat, Danfords Hotel & Marina blends modern luxury with local history. A historic property and listed on the New York State National Register of Historic Places, this Port Jefferson hotel recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation with a total redesign of the property's guest rooms and suites and the compete refurbishment of the ballroom and signature restaurant.
Every holiday season, the resort resembles a winter wonderland with Christmas trees and decorations galore. Each banquet room has its own theme such as a Victorian Christmas, Children's Christmas and Sophisticated Christmas. The lobby boasts its own Dickens Village and a 20-foot Christmas tree. Wave Restaurant & Lounge will also have its own tree and the property will be decorated with lights, garland, and roping throughout.
Danfords is also part of the cast during Port Jefferson Village's annual Charles Dickens Festival in December, one of the area's most anticipated events. Actors and choirs don period attire, walk through the hotel and restaurant greeting guests and singing Christmas carols throughout the festival (everything is impromptu).
The property can accommodate up to 150 guests for a big holiday bash in the ballroom or a more intimate get together at Wave Restaurant & Lounge. In addition, the restaurant is open for dining on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Years Day.
